From microbe to ecosystem.
How microbial communities assemble, interact, and drive ecosystem function — from the soils of Crete to the deepest caves of Greece. The work combines metagenomic sequencing with interaction-network analysis to move from the scale of a single microbe to that of a whole island ecosystem, asking how community structure relates to biogeochemical processes and ecosystem health.
